The past year and the start of this year has been a painful time for Demonoid and its owner Deimos. Just like many other torrent tracker websites Demonoid has been facing many legality problems. For those who do not know what Demonoid is; it is one of world biggest torrent indexing & tracking website. Demonoid stopped user registration long time ago and the only way to get any membership was through Invites.
Most of us were unaware of when Deimos first start to feel the force of the law back in June, the new laws in the Netherlands prohibited him for running Demonoid from Netherlands in a safe environment. He changed location of the server and website and starting running Demonoid from North America, Canada. Now Canada as oppose to other countries is not so tough on p2p websites. They are ‘easy going’ you could say as compare to the U.S or other European nations.
There was a short time when the transfer was happening, I am sure everyone was panicking
I know I was but it was temporary and we were then told of what had happened afterwards. The site started to function again, efficiently under a new data center until The Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) wanted to put their nose in the business. All Canadian traffic was blocked from Demonoid in October - September and on going. I live in Canada, this is bad news. Anywho, The CRIA accomplished what they wanted to do from the begining, they finally got their chance to shutdown Demonoid on November 9th 2007. Darn.
Just recently I was told that Demonoid Tracker is back online, its been maybe a day or so that I am aware of this and it is amazing news to most of us here, and funny enough the tracker works in Canada as well. We are not sure of whats happening at this moment with Demonoid, but Demonoid has been a fighting and I hope they do not forfeit yet.
Updates on this will be posted ASAP.
ore then you actually would for an online business (I am referring to an online store). The most you would need to pay are your web host cost, this excluding shipping and customer support and such.
Yang, the new CEO of yahoo who took over seven months ago in hopes of shaking the company and making some development for a change but…his work does not seem to be so impressive, as a resort many people think he did this purposely because he ran out of choices.
Google works with yahoo, helps it understand better that yahoo apparently is worth more. “Apparently some of the number crunchers inside Yahoo! feel like the number is too low of a valuation, while others want to get tied up with Google to improve search revenues — which some seem to think might have some antitrust implications” - Engadget.
