Demonoid MIGHT be returning.

The past year and the start of this year has been a painful time for Demonoid and its owner Deimos. Just like many other torrent tracker websites Demonoid has been facing many legality problems. For those who do not know what Demonoid is; it is one of world biggest torrent indexing & tracking website. Demonoid stopped user registration long time ago and the only way to get any membership was through Invites.

Demonoid LogoMost of us were unaware of when Deimos first start to feel the force of the law back in June, the new laws in the Netherlands prohibited him for running Demonoid from Netherlands in a safe environment. He changed location of the server and website and starting running Demonoid from North America, Canada. Now Canada as oppose to other countries is not so tough on p2p websites. They are ‘easy going’ you could say as compare to the U.S or other European nations.

There was a short time when the transfer was happening, I am sure everyone was panicking ;) I know I was but it was temporary and we were then told of what had happened afterwards. The site started to function again, efficiently under a new data center until The Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) wanted to put their nose in the business. All Canadian traffic was blocked from Demonoid in October - September and on going. I live in Canada, this is bad news. Anywho, The CRIA accomplished what they wanted to do from the begining, they finally got their chance to shutdown Demonoid on November 9th 2007. Darn.

Just recently I was told that Demonoid Tracker is back online, its been maybe a day or so that I am aware of this and it is amazing news to most of us here, and funny enough the tracker works in Canada as well. We are not sure of whats happening at this moment with Demonoid, but Demonoid has been a fighting and I hope they do not forfeit yet.

Updates on this will be posted ASAP.

How to Shop Online.

The online market seems to be getting bigger and bigger as time moves on. Just about ten years ago there was merely a few online markets on the internet and a lot of people did not purchase from online stores for it was not secured or as reliable as they are now.

As it seems today, almost anyone with some knowledge of web development, some technical skills on how to work with customers and how to present a Shop can open an online market. Online business are much easier to manage, develop and control. If you were to open to a store anywhere you would be paying a lot mecommerceore then you actually would for an online business (I am referring to an online store). The most you would need to pay are your web host cost, this excluding shipping and customer support and such.

This said, thousands of people around the globe have opened their own internet marketing website. Also with the bigger auction websites such as eBay people become permanent or temporary resellers and make a pretty good income. My father started off his business career after I introduced him to eBay and his reseller reputation has grown through the roof for the past 3 years of working under ebay. Recently he has opened a website to list his items on his website rather then ebay because eBay has interests that are unpleasant, specially if your selling big items.

So How Do You buy something online? The actual process for this is easy, but can you really trust them? How do you pay for it? When should you pay for it? What if you don’t receive your package?. Well lets begin one at a time, Online shopping works as follows; You buy an item, you pay for the item THEN the seller or company will ship you the item. There are many different shipping companies therefore the length of time it takes for the deliver to arrive could vary.

Web Instant Messaging.

Sometimes you need to chat with someone for an important matter, for entertainment, for anything but your access to the internet and the computer you are on is limited so what do you do? You don’t know.

Previously If I was to use any sort of messenger applications while I am on the go it would normally be Msn Web Messenger, but due to the hype MSN has most schools and faculties ban this website from their laboratory which I find really irritating.

And then I ran into Meebo.com via some search queries on google. The second I saw the main page I said to myself ‘Oh Sh**’ because rather then just MSN meebo gives you the ability to Instant Message with: Aim, Yahoo, Gtalk, Meebo and MSN.

Meebo

Movie review: The Jumper

So it was the girlfriend’s idea to go out on Saturday night and watch a movie. I did not want to because there aren’t any good movies out and we would be saving money by not spending…So 20 minutes later, we are ready to go watch ‘The Jumper’. We first stopped by Quiznos and grabbed ourselves some dinner so we don’t go watching the movie really hungry.

Got our tickets an hour early but since the movie recently came out and its a Saturday night, there was a huge line up just for the movie The Jumper. We got good seats due to being an hour early but if we were even 5 minutes late we’d be sitting first row in the theater.

The Jumper

The movie I think was generally good. The special effects were pretty good and the chosen actors fit the characters quite well. I am thinking I would give the movie a 6/10 or 7/10. I would go watch it again because of the special effects heh.

Anyways here is a brief description of the movie. Basically there are 2 type of people (apart the normal people). The Paladins and The Jumpers. The Jumpers have the ability to teleport and the paladins are like witch hunters. The paladins are trying to destroy the jumpers “because only god should have that power”. One kid grows up with his powers and enjoys his life as he runs away from his beloved ones to find freedom and since he can teleport “why stay in one play when you can have the whole world” he says. This kid has to face many problems, gets to know another Jumper and biggest conflict for him is How to tell the woman of his dream his secret…

Great movie, you’d like it. Check it out its in theatres…now…don’t download it lol. When movies are new people tend to bootleg, what this means is they take a camera to the theater and video tape the movie. This is illegal, wrong, I am not going to stop you as I did this myself but just to let you know the quality of the movies are most of the time bad.

Warning: Possible spoilers ahead.
