Mininova: Now Streaming music within torrents.

Mininova.org, a famous Torrent indexer website has recently launched a new feature to their website, actually to their new website ‘bitlet’ :). BitLet is similar to a torrent downloader application but its web-based, and its best feature currently is that you can listen to music torrents rather then having to download the torrent on your computer.

MiniNova Streaming!

Above this text is a screenshot of how the new Streaming music looks like on mininova.org at this moment. Not all torrents hold this feature, the embedded green layer saying “Stream this music”, but no worries you can still listen to the songs you want even if it doesn’t look like that.

How does it work? well this is quite simple. “The torrent must contain ogg vorbis or mp3 files.” - Bitlet.org. In other words, as long as your torrent file (.torrent) contains a set or just an .mp3 or ogg vorbis file then it will auto detect it for you and list down the songs for you. Here is how my list of songs look lik, all I have to do is click on one and it will play it for me.

So, check it out on your own, experiment with it. The founders of mininova said that they are working on enabling users to Video Stream in torrents..so music and video streaming. :) Good effort Mininova.

GCX Launches GameCraftX Community!

GameCraftX

Above this text is a picture of the homepage of a new, modern, cleaner online society just opened!. The GameCraftX Social Network is a new release to replace the old GCX. GameCraftX used to be a Dragon Kingdom RPG; I’m currently working on that as well. I had a few constant players whom recently asked me if it was possible to bring the RPG to another URL. I couldn’t deny their request because I too play on occasions.

The new URL to the RPG will be http://rpg.gamecraftx.com and is underway for development because for some strange reason the game suddenly stopped working. I can work it fine on my local server; it works great. But when I load it up on my host it doesn’t do much.. so i’ll have to fix this.

Anyway, this post is regarding the new GCX community. Feel free to visit www.GameCraftX.Com and give us your Hello by registering and we will welcome you :).

Microsoft wanting Yahoo?!?

It has been said around the news and in most news websites that yahoo has been thinking of laying off 1000 employees. Their reason for this was to give yahoo a quick, financial growth. Back in 2005, yahoo’s growth hit a plateau. Yahoo dropped 50% in market value that year and thats about $35 Billion.

Sad Yahoo life.Yang, the new CEO of yahoo who took over seven months ago in hopes of shaking the company and making some development for a change but…his work does not seem to be so impressive, as a resort many people think he did this purposely because he ran out of choices.

“This is a necessary step in our transformation,” says Yang, hoping for a ‘transformation’, losing employees to make money? Lets just hope good and far this transformation is going to go.

Microsoft gets informed about the events that has been occurring to yahoo and they would like to once again put their nose into someone else’s business. At first, according to media; Microsoft wanted to develop a deeper partnership with Yahoo and help it get back on its feet and of course Microsoft would have a good share on this as well.

I recently saw the news headline and Microsoft has offered to buy Yahoo. Once Microsoft confirmed that they would like to make an offer for yahoo; Google intervenes, probably for a good cause. Microsoft offered to buy yahoo for: $44.6 billion. Now thats a lot of money, I personally never thought Yahoo was even worth anything close to that but I suppose I am wrong.

Google works with yahoo, helps it understand better that yahoo apparently is worth more. “Apparently some of the number crunchers inside Yahoo! feel like the number is too low of a valuation, while others want to get tied up with Google to improve search revenues — which some seem to think might have some antitrust implications” - Engadget.

Yahoo has already rejected Microsoft’s first offer but it is not hard to believe that Microsoft would attempt a new offer. They want everything.

Lets see how things turn up.
